The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 Players Auction is over and now it is time for the action to unfold on the ground on April 5. ­­­

25-year-old Ben Stokes, who bats left-handed and bowls right-arm, triggered a bidding war in the 1st session of the auction. He was finally snapped up by Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) for a whopping Rs 14.5 crore.

IPL Auction 2017 – Time Table, Starting Date & Teams 

Stokes became the 2nd costliest player to be bought at auction. The highest was Rs 16 crore for Yuvraj Singh. However, Stokes is the most expensive buy from overseas category, setting a new record.
