Account Director

Reporting to the VP of Sales, the Account Director is responsible for managing the revenue generating efforts for an East Coast Territory. The director will be responsible for driving growth and brand advertising across Future’s portfolio of digital products and events.  We are looking for candidates with strong client and agency contacts as well as a proven track record of achieving results, overcoming obstacles, and can generate leads in both large-scale and blue-chip clients.  In this position you’re required to identify solutions for your clients business needs and contribute to a team environment.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Generate new business opportunities and revenues.
  • Monitor reporting of accurate sales projections, updates and other information relating to sales and accounts weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually.
  • Partner with Marketing to develop content marketing strategies for your clients/sales team.
  • Participate in overall direction of the magazines and websites.
  • Work with VP to develop and define growth plans.
  • Identify and implement additional business opportunities in conjunction with the VP.
  • Monitor the criteria affecting performance, at the same time putting in place strategies that will ensure generating a high level of profit against revenue.
  • Monitor key strategic accounts to ensure client satisfaction and communicate feedback from customers internally to marketing and VP Sales.
  • Initiate and develop profitable relationships with third parties as potential programmatic and/or online affiliate partners.



Required Qualifications:
 

  • BA/BS required
  • 5+ years of online media sales and excellent proficiency managing / growing accounts

  • Bonus: Existing background covering the consumer electronics
  • Proven track record in print and digital advertising sales including integrated and custom solutions for related business or technology media brand.
  • Strong list of senior level contacts with brands, agencies or related advertiser/agency clients
  • Strong working knowledge of the publishing world, advertising, and key vertical markets.
  • Demonstrated creativity, delivering tailored advertising packages (online and print) meeting advertiser needs.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including well developed presentation skills.

  • Ability to monitor adherence to operating & sales policies.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
